McDougal Orchards is a seventh-generation family farm located on 350 acres in Sanford/Springvale, Maine. The Orchard is open daily, rain or shine, starting the second weekend in August and stays open until the fruit is gone or the weather shuts us down, generally early November. Tree fruits available for picking (u-pick) include cherries, peaches, apples (over 40 varieties!) nectarines, plums, and pears. Fall-bearing raspberries are available to pick September through October. We also grow winter squashes, pumpkins, and gourds. Captain Jack’s Donut Shack makes the best donuts during apple cider season and we sell local honey, maple syrup, and preserves (jams, jellies, pickles) in our front-of-the-barn farm store. Wagon rides are available on weekends and are free for our customers. We also have a small corn maze, a Fairy Village, and trails for hiking, biking, or dog walking. Give us a call if you need particulars or want info on pre-season fruit (cherries, peaches.) There’s no better place to get outside and unwind, so plan to visit often and make some great memories!
