McDougal Orchards is a diversified family farm in Southern Maine specializing in the production of high quality tree fruit, primarily for U-Pick and Farm Store customers. In addition, the farm grows and sells fall-bearing raspberries, pumpkins, winter squashes, gourds and fresh and dried flowers. Located just a mile from downtown Sanford, the farm has been owned and operated by the same family for seven generations, and the eighth is beginning the transition-to-ownership process. With its scenic location and proximity to downtown Sanford, as well as to the beaches and lakes of York County, McDougal Orchards is an extremely desirable day-trip location in the summer and fall. Customers pass through the dooryard of the historic farmhouse on their way to pick fruit in the orchards behind the house or across the road. Ready-picked fruit, fresh-pressed sweet cider, and many other seasonal offerings are available in the Farm Store. On weekends, Captain Jack’s Donut Shack serves up hot donuts and cider treats. Picnic areas, an Orchard Education Center, our popular fairy village and a corn maze are available for kids of all ages to enjoy. From August through October, McDougal Orchards is open Saturday-Wednesday 9AM-5PM, and Thursday-Friday 9AM-6PM.
